Power/Fuel/Operation Notes
This is an attachment, not a standalone machine. It must be used with a compatible excavator that has the right hitch, pin measurements and hydraulic setup.
Before booking, confirm the carrier machine, coupler setup, hydraulic connections and job type so we can check whether this grab is suitable.
Transport & Delivery Notes
The hydraulic grab can be collected or delivered where suitable. Delivery and collection may be available within 50 km of our Greenbank depot, depending on timing, access and availability.
If you are arranging delivery, make sure the site has safe access for unloading and a site contact available at handover. If you are collecting, confirm transport suitability before arrival so the attachment can be moved safely and legally.
Safety & Practical Notes
This attachment should only be used by someone competent with excavator attachments and hydraulic operation.
Do not assume the grab will fit every mini excavator. Pin size, ear width, centres, hitch setup and hydraulic connections must be checked before hire. The grab should not be used for lifting beyond the machine’s safe working limits or for work the carrier machine is not designed to perform.
Keep people clear of the operating area, avoid suspended loads over people, and follow the excavator and attachment information provided at handover.
Move Awkward Materials With More Control
A hydraulic grab is a useful attachment when the job involves bulky, loose or awkward materials that are hard to manage with a standard bucket.
For landscaping jobs, it can help move rocks, logs, branches and timber with better grip. For clean-up work, it can help sort mixed materials and reduce the need to handle heavy debris by hand. For demolition and site clearing, it can make it easier to pick and place irregular pieces rather than trying to scoop everything.
This attachment is best suited to customers who already understand the carrier excavator and need a more controlled way to handle materials. If the job is mainly digging, trenching or bulk loading, a bucket may be more suitable. If the job involves holes for posts or footings, an auger drive may be the better attachment. If you are unsure, tell us what material you are moving and what machine you plan to use.
Short Hire Notes
Minimum hire is 24 hours. We use the same rates every day, including weekends and public holidays. Pickup and return must be during our opening hours, and there are no unattended or after-hours returns.
A bond may apply per item and is released after the equipment is returned and checked. Please return the attachment reasonably clean and let us know straight away if anything does not look or operate correctly during the hire.
FAQs
What is a hydraulic grab used for?
A hydraulic grab is used for picking up, moving, sorting and placing awkward materials. It is commonly used for rocks, logs, branches, timber, concrete pieces, site-clearing debris and mixed materials that are hard to control with a standard bucket.
Does the hydraulic grab come with an excavator?
This page is for the hydraulic grab attachment. The excavator is not automatically included unless it is booked separately or confirmed as part of your hire setup. Ask us before booking if you need both the attachment and a compatible excavator.
Will this grab fit my excavator?
Fitment must be confirmed before hire. The source measurements list a 40 mm pin, 180 mm centres and 141 mm ear width, but the hitch, coupler and hydraulic setup also need to suit your machine.
Is this grab suitable for a Kobelco SK26?
It is listed for compatible Kobelco 2.6–2.8 tonne mini excavators, which may include SK26-class machines. Final fitment still needs to be checked before booking because coupler and hydraulic setups can vary.
Can I use it for rocks and logs?
Yes, this type of grab is commonly used for handling rocks, logs, timber and similar awkward materials, provided the material size, site conditions and carrier machine are suitable.
Is it suitable for demolition work?
It can be useful for demolition clean-up, sorting and moving debris. It should not be treated as approval for structural demolition or high-risk demolition work. The job, material and machine limits need to be considered before use.
Can DIY customers hire this attachment?
This attachment is best suited to customers who are competent with excavators and hydraulic attachments. If you are not experienced with this type of equipment, speak with us first so the right hire option can be discussed.
What should I prepare before hiring?
Share the excavator model, hitch or coupler type, pin measurements if known, hydraulic connection details, job type, material type, site access and hire dates. This helps us check whether the grab is the right fit for your job.
Can Flourish Hire deliver the hydraulic grab?
Delivery and collection may be available within 50 km of our Greenbank depot, subject to availability, access and scheduling. Let us know your site address and access details when enquiring.
How is this different from using a bucket?
A bucket is better for digging, scooping and loading loose material. A hydraulic grab is better when you need to grip, sort or place irregular materials such as rocks, logs, branches or mixed debris.

Made it easier to move awkward rocks and timber without trying to balance everything in the bucket.

Useful for sorting mixed site debris and keeping the work area more organised during clean-up.

A good attachment when the job needed more grip and control than a standard bucket.

Helped reduce manual handling for bulky material that would have been slow to move by hand.

Worth checking fitment first, but once matched to the machine it made material handling much more practical.
Why Choose Flourish Hire For This Hydraulic Grab
